Belize Lodge & Excursions Limited (BLE) is a multifaceted eco-enterprise company located in an environmentally sensitive and biologically rich area and is designed to promote travel and low-impact ecotourism, conservation and sustainable land use in the region. The Companys core business is operating a series of three unique lodges among different habitat settings of southern Belize, Central America.

BLE provides a select offering of ecotourism excursions within the Boden Creek Ecological Reserve (BCER), Golden Stream Conservation Corridor (GSCC), Port Honduras Marine Zone, Sapodilla Cays Marine Reserve, the surrounding Toledo District and with our Overland Tour Division, throughout Belize as a whole.

- Indian Creek Lodge is nestled at the foot of the Maya Mountains and serves as our main lodge for land based accommodations and excursions within the region.

- Jungle Camp is situated on the pristine Golden Stream deep in the heart of the Belizean jungle. The Camp offers a truly one-of-a-kind overnight experience with an expedition down the river and through some of the last remaining lowland tropical rainforest left in Central America.

- Belize Island Lodge on Moho Cay is loated within the Port Honduras Marine Zone, a large protected area of undisturbed coastal island, lagoons and mangrove habitats. Sunset Inn and Tours is located in the remote village of Monkey River, Belize, lying beyond the electric grid and phone lines. Monkey River is home to 200 residents, mostly fishermen, and some of the nicest and friendliest people you will meet!

Believe it or not, Monkey River has no cars and only sand streets! (Don’t worry; Sunset Inn has electricity from a generator and phone and Internet service through a fixed-base cellular system). Owner Clive Garbutt is a sport fishing and eco-tour guide, hotel manager, and small businessman.

unset Inn and Tours, known locally as "Clive’s Place", is family owned and operated. It is situated in one large building with 8 rooms on the 2nd floor with a large airy balcony, great for viewing the happenings in Monkey River. Each room is basic, yet clean and freshly painted, equipped with a fan, 24-hour electricity, and a bathroom with hot and cold water.

The Inn also houses a restaurant and bar downstairs that is the central place for activity in the village. Occasionally, special events and nighttime dances are hosted at the restaurant.

The Lodge at Big Falls

The Lodge at Big Falls is situated on the banks of the Rio Grande river in Belize's southern Toledo District. The property is located on a meander of the river with almost a mile of river frontage. There are views towards the Maya Mountains to the north west while the south eastern bank faces the village of Big Falls where villagers come down to the riverside to wash their clothes and bathe.

Big Falls lies at the end of the Southern Highway eighteen miles inland from Punta Gorda the district capital. The lodge's location provides easy access to all sites and places of interest within Toledo (journey times are usually less than one hour) as well as attractions further north such as the Scarlet Macaw breeding area at Red Bank and the Cockscomb Basin Jaguar Preserve. There is also easy access to the cayes and coastal parks such as Payne's Creek in the Port Honduras Marine Reserve twenty miles north of Punta Gorda. The Guatemalan towns of Livingston and Puerto Barrios are just seventy minutes ride by skiff across the Bay of Honduras.

Accommodation is on the ground floor, in four very spacious, tiled rooms with ceiling fans and remote control a/c. All have a private bathroom with hot shower and there's a tiled sitting area to enjoy the gardens.

Rates: $100 for one or two, $10 each additional person in room.

Rates are in Belize Dollars. Add 7% room tax.

Lunch and Dinner are available. Healthy meals, served family style, are prepared to satisfy individual preferences. Dinner is $25 Bz per person, includes dessert and beverage.
