Strategically located, the Lodge is just ten minutes from the Belize International Airport (BZE), approximately 10 miles north of Belize City, and 4 miles from the Caribbean Sea. BONEFISH, TARPON, PERMIT, and SNOOK are the main species caught by fly fishing and/or spin casting anglers. The main Lodge houses the kitchen, office, Mags' gift shop, Mike's fishing closet, the dining room, lounge area, screened in porch & self service bar. From the Belize River Lodge's kitchen comes an excellent combination of the best Belizean, Creole, and American cuisine. The Lodge cooks use the freshest and finest ingredients (even coconuts off the trees in the front yard), and along with some of Mags' old family recipes, create some of the most memorable tasty meals, which will have you asking for a few of her recipes. The dining room's claim to fame are the three solid slab mahogany tables, where you can find some of the finest dining and socializing in Belize. The Great House

The Great House is located in the renowned Fort George area and is just 100 meters from the Caribbean Sea. Around the corner stands the historic Fort Point Lighthouse at the entrance to the Belize Harbor and adjacent to the Baron Bliss Memorial, which was erected as a monument to the Englishman, Baron Henry Edward Ernest Victor Bliss. He lived aboard his yacht "Sea King," which was anchored just off the Fort George Point. Although he never set foot on Belizean soil, due to health reasons, he fell in love with the sea, the fishing, and the charming qualities of its people. On his death on March 9th, 1926, he bequeathed a legacy of over a million dollars to Belize, then British Honduras, in a "Baron Bliss Trust". The 9th of March later became a public and bank holiday in this country.

This Belizean landmark was built in 1927 by talented local craftsmen and still retains its beauty, grace and charm. Now, this magnificent four-story colonial style residence is probably the largest classic wooden home still in existence in Belize. Originally built as a family home, this wonderful structure still provides the warmth and comfort reminiscent of the early colonial times of Belize. Spacious verandahs at the front and back of the house allow you to relax and let go amidst the soothing embrace of the Caribbean breezes.
