We are a Canadian family and our son Dave, has lived in Belize for more than a decade. We built Almond Beach to respond to requests from guests for private, luxurious, beachside accommodation to return to after a high energy day diving, snorkeling or exploring the magic of Belize.

The new extension to the resort was opened in December 2004, and we spent all of that year sourcing Central America for the unique touches which we knew would make Almond Beach unique.

Our bungalows are self-accommodating. We provide you with all your needed supplies like sheets, towels and beach towels. Your kitchen comes equipped with refrigerator, microwave, toaster, two-burner stove, coffee maker, complimentary coffee, cooking utensils, sugar, salt, pepper, and spices. We will help stock your fridge for your arrival, and you can buy fresh fruits and vegetables from vendors that stop in our driveway a couple times a week. You can buy beef, pork, and chicken from Maya Point Market, just a few minutes walk down the road. Additional groceries and seafood can be bought in Placencia village, about 8 miles south on the Peninsula.

Several local shrimp farms provide a regular supply of some of the freshest shrimp anywhere.

AC cabanas Two of the Air conditioned rooms have a double and a single bed, and open porches; two have two double beds and a screened in porch. They have hardwood floors and are trimmed in local mahogany. Private bath with hot water and tub as well as shower & personal coffee/tea makers. The ac rooms are 80 feet from the Caribbean Sea, surrounded by seagrape and palm trees.

THE CABANAS have two double beds, private bath with hot and cold water, two fans in each cabana, thatch roofs, hardwood floors, private porches with a sea view, screened windows and they are located within 50 feet of the Caribbean Sea.

We are the only lodge in the world dedicated to Fly-fishing for permit; they are our number 1 species. Last year we landed 123 permit for 71 anglers, the year before we landed 170 permit for 91 anglers. We invented the flies and techniques to land this most difficult fish of all on a fly.

Elegantly constructed, this two story building uses concrete construction and Spanish tiles and is accented with handmade Belizean hardwood furniture.

There are three units available in total, two studios style suites downstairs and one grand penthouse upstairs. The Penthouse features a private bedroom and a wrap around deck that overlooks the sea. Each unit includes a full kitchen, full private bath, fans, AC & cable TV.
